Permanent Eyeliner

Never walk around with smudged eyeliner again!

Are you embarrassed when your eyeliner has smeared everywhere by 3 pm? or have difficulty applying eyeliner? Imagine having perfect eyeliner 24/7. Think of permanent eyeliner as your hero. It balances your face creating an illusion of larger eyes that make you feel glamorous all the time. There are 3 styles when choosing your permanent eyeliner.

  • Eyelash Enhancement - A line that rests along the lashes drawing attention to the lashes and making them appear more noticeable. Some prefer this over wearing mascara. This line is not visible when your eyes are closed.
  • Classic Eyeliner - Eyeliner that rests along the lashes and right above it on the eyelid, for those who like a classic look. This line is visible when your eyes are closed.
  • Winged Eyeliner - A perfectly shaped wing providing a more dramatic look. Winged eyeliner is offered as a solid wing or a soft dusty wing, known as stardust eyeliner.

How long is the eyeliner healing process?

Permanent makeup is safe and not invasive. The eyeliner looks pretty immediately. However, the initial healing to prevent infection is 5 days. It takes 4-6 weeks to complete a full skin cell turnover cycle to see accurate retention. Touchup session is required.

Permanent eyeliner lasts up to 5 years and comes in black, blue, green, and purple. Permanent eyeliner is our most favored treatment at Red Carpet Luxury Spa and one of our specialties. You are in the safe hands of a licensed experienced professional who has performed over 100 eyeliner treatments and is fully confident in doing yours. See what to expect for a month during your eyeliner healing.

    What to expect?

    Before your eyeliner appointment:

    • Discontinue use of fake lashes, waterproof mascara, long lasting eyeliner, and oil based makeup and makeup remover 4 weeks prior. VERY IMPORTANT!
    • Discontinue Latisse and any other lash growth serum 6 weeks prior.
    • Avoid perming or tinting your lashes for 7 days prior.
    • Do not use retinol, acids, or resurfacing and brightening treatments near the eyes for 4 weeks prior.

Step-by-step process of your eyeliner appointment:

    • Arrive on time for your appointment without eye makeup and no contact lenses.
    • Fill out a consent form, arbitration agreement, and provide ID. This is required by our insurance policy.
    • Taking photos of the treatment area for documentation is required. Consent for use on social media is optional but greatly appreciated.
    • Lay comfortably on the bed to begin your eyeliner treatment by cleansing the area.
    • Eyes remain closed throughout the entire process.
    • The entire process is completed in under ten minutes when there is the full cooperation of the skin and client.
    • Topical numbing, safe for eyes, is applied for 5-10 minutes.
    • Lightly tap to break the skin with a permanent makeup pen device.
    • Apply secondary numbing then begin the color application with a tight stretch of the skin using slow back and forth motions.
    • Repeat 2 to 3 passes over each section until the desired saturation is achieved. Working lightly and slowly creates less trauma and minimizes swelling.
    • Over application of numbing agents toughens the skin and makes it more difficult to implant color. Underapplying numbing agents may create discomfort. The trick is to find the proper balance. Much of this relies on you giving accurate feedback when asked how you feel.
    • Tilt the head to the side and rinse with a saline wash to refresh.
    • Talking is discouraged to allow the procedure to be performed correctly.
    • Properly prepped skin allows the color to implant quickly on the first attempt causing minimal to no pain.
    • Use of retinol, topical creams, and lash growth serums causes the ink to bounce off the skin and can not implant color properly. Preparing for your appointment is very important!

    Aftercare:

    • No hot shower to avoid steam for the first 24 hours. VERY IMPORTANT!
    • Avoid sun, sauna, or heavy sweating for the first 24 hours.
    • Do not apply makeup or wear contact lenses for the first 72 hours.
    • Use clean unopened mascara after 72 hours to avoid infection.
    • No lash extensions, tinting, perming, or curling for the first 14 days.
    • Apply a small amount of ointment provided to you, 3 times daily, on clean skin and rub in well to lock in the color for 10 days, or as needed if feeling dry.
    • Avoid retinols, acids, and exfoliating treatments near the eyes to prevent premature fading.

What can you expect after a permanent makeup eyeliner tattoo?

    • Minor swelling for 3-5 days. (does not occur for everyone).
    • May apply ice in a clean plastic bag if needed.
    • May return to work and drive as usual immediately after the appointment.
    • The color appears dark, then disappears, then reappears up to 50% lighter.
    • Touchup is required 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment.

If you have vascular eyelids or had any type of eye surgery, including cataract, Lasik, or blepharoplasty you may not be a candidate for an eyeliner tattoo and a doctor's note is required for clearance.
