Permanent Makeup is a cosmetic tattoo designed to enhance one's natural appearance. Good permanent makeup goes undetected giving your eyebrows a soft and fuller look. Permanent makeup is not a regular tattoo, rather, it is semi permanent. Permanent Makeup typically lasts 1-3 years depending on skin type, activity level, and technique used, often requiring yearly color boosts. All Permanent makeup procedures require two applications, performed one month apart.
During the first application the pigment appears dark as it is implanted right on the surface layers of the skin. After 30 days new skin grows over it, and the pigment is viewed beneath the skin making the color appear lighter. Then the cycle is repeated. This is called a touchup. Touchup is for perfecting the shape and color. Permanent makeup always requires 2 sessions to achieve the desired results similar to painting a wall in 2 coats.

Note: It is your responsibility to read the pre/post care on our website and follow ALL the instructions! Must discontinue retinols, acids, hyaluronic acid, anti aging products or color will not penetrate into the skin!
Any form of pigment implantation into the skin is essentially a tattoo regardless of what you call it. In permanent makeup the color is built in layers by placing the ink more lightly causing the color to fade with the skin's shedding process.
Be aware that different names are used for the same technique for marketing purposes. Microblading, Microshading, Powder Brows, Combination Brows, Pixel Brows, 3D Brows, Fluffy Brows, Feather Brows, Eyebrow Tattoo, Brow Feathering, Hair Stroke Brows, and Nano Brows are all names for a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo of the eyebrow.
To be clear, there are only two ways of implanting color into the skin, either by hand or by machine. Tapping ink into the skin by hand is known as SoftTap and has been around for centuries with ancient forms of tattooing by pricking oneself with dye. All other forms of tattooing use a tattoo pen or tattoo machine. Using a machine with a softer and lighter hand stroke will appear more natural and less overbearing than a traditional tattoo.
Microblading is performed by hand drawing lines with pigment that resemble hair strokes. Unfortunately, it is not recommended for most people as it blurs over time. Additionally, those with oily skin will not hold the color while more mature skin will not allow for crisp clean lines. It only lasts 6-18 months.
Powder brows, performed with a machine and commonly known as ombre or machine brows, deposits small pixels of ink into the skin creating a soft powdery effect resembling powder makeup. Powder brows are good for all skin types and is effective in covering old or unwanted faded brows. Powder brows lasts 2-3 years as the pigment is deposited more securely and is the most sought after type of brow.
Combination brows, commonly known as hybrid brows or microshading, combine microblading with powder brows. The hair strokes are placed in the front portion of the brow and powder towards the center and the tail, adding depth and dimension. Combination brows last 6 to 18 months just like microblading and are best suited for dry and youthful skin.
Saline removal is a safe method to remove unwanted or overly saturated ink on the face and eyebrows. Saline removal may be needed prior to working over previous work that is too dark and saturated to cover. Learn more about saline removal.
The string method, used in brow mapping, incorporates the golden ratio theory of beauty for perfectly balanced brows.
Eyebrow shock refers to the initial surprise or shock one may feel when seeing the immediate results of their newly applied brows, particularly if the color appears darker or more intense than expected. Remember, the initial color is darker and not the same as the final results for several reasons:
Layering the color during the application contributes to the level of darkness. Going too light will result in zero retention. The color must appear dark in order to achieve desired results!
Must discontinue 2 weeks (4 weeks preferred) before and after appointment. Failure to do so will prevent color absorption into the skin, and you will not be refunded.
For best results we recommend Cetaphil Daily Cleanser (for normal skin) and Cetaphil Oil Free Daily Facial Moisturizer, without anti aging properties, around the treatment area 4 weeks prior and 4 weeks after to keep your skin clean and moisturized. Other recommendations on Precare-Postcare page.
Day of the Appointment: Appointments are scheduled for 2 hours.
